Ingredient: Olea Europaea (olive) fruit oil
Benefits and uses:
Olive is an evergreen tree native to the Mediterranean region.Olive trees are slow to mature, requiring ten years to start to bear fruit, and 30 years for a sizable crop to be produced.
Olive oil is an extremely versatile oil. It is a favourite on both dry and irritated skin; as it is very soothing and carries disinfecting and healing properties. It has been proven to be very beneficial for rheumatic conditions and protects the skin and body against harmful free-radical cell damage.
Due to its high percentage of oleic acid within olive oil, the use of olive oil on skin allows the natural breathing process and regulate sebum production of the skin. Olive oil is a major source of plant-based squalene, which helps lubricate skin, prevents moisture loss, functions as a natural emollient and protective agent.
Olive oil is quite legendary since it has been used over the centuries for multiple purposes. Throughout history, olive oil was the most important of all the vegetable oils. Kings were anointed with olive oil and olive oil was part of religious ceremonies since biblical times. Traditionally, olive oil is the first vegetal oil that was (and still being) made into olive soaps and has been eaten and used for stomach disorders, stimulates bile production, promotes pancreatic secretions and may even protect against stomach ulcers.
