Botanical name: Theobroma grandiflorum

Ingredient: Theobroma grandiflorum seed butter

Extraction method: Wild-harvested; Cupuaçu butter is produced by cold pressing of cupuacu beans, then passing it through filtration. Free of additives.

Origin: Amazon rainforest, Brazil

Skincare: With a balanced composition of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, it’s a great ingredient for the cosmetics industry for low melting point butters. It has a high capacity to absorb water (about 120% higher than lanolin) and contains phytosterols, especially beta-sitosterol.

Cupuaçu butter offers skin elasticity recovery capability and long hydration effect with reduced water loss. Cupuaçu butter can be used as ointment for skin protection from cracks and fissures, aftershave skincare application and an excellent moisturising addition to dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoraisis.

Scent: Fragrant and chocolatey, similar to cocoa butter.

Texture: Creamy, soft, light weight butter which melts into an oil upon skin contact.
